1. The surface finish obtained is very good.

2. This process can be used for any hard material.

3. Materials likes carbides, ceramics can be easily machined by this process.

4. Loss of metal in machining is very small.

5. The tool material need not be harder than work material.

6. Little skill operator required.

7. Complex shape made easily.
