Define Storms - underwater inspection of bridge?

Storms can have a detrimental effect on bridge substructure. The velocity and depth of water and debris carried increase in relation to the intensity and storm of water.The erosion of bed increases with increase in velocity. Debris accumulation at the bridge also increases potential for scour by concentrating the flow.
