Define the use of quartz crystal method to detect ultrasonic waves.
Quartz crystal method:
This method is based onto the principle of Piezo-electric effect. While one pair of the opposite faces of a quartz crystal is representation to the ultrasonic waves, other pairs of opposite faces expanded opposite charges. Such charges are amplified and detected by using an electronic circuit.
It is the distance travelled by the disturbance in single time period. It only relays on the properties of the medium and it independent of time and position.
