Define Preoperative Care Prior to Endodontic Microsurgery

a.Thorough medical history "consultation and permission from the physician is the patient has systemic disease(s) and taking certain drugs.

b. Patient's current drugs. "as warfarin→ Bleeding tendency, antihistaminic drugs → azethromycin "and its family" are contraindicated.

 ** Before surgery you have to take the complete blood picture: You have to assess the INR level

"if more than 2.5 you cannot do surgery".

 c. Bleeding prior and duration.

d. Consultation with physician: "and keep a copy of his permission"

-  Procedures

-  Anesthetic

-  Drugs

-  Time of operation and recovery

-  Sedatives

-  Systemic antibiotic

-  Analgesics

e.  Patient consent.

-  You have to tell the patient about all the risks and benefits of the surgery and make sure that the patient understood everything!

"Post-operative pain and/ swelling...etc".  

-  Don't underestimate the patient.
