Define Microscopical Examination of Starch Granules?

Take a slide and make a thin film of a suspension of starch granules from different sources and examine under a microscope. Describe the starch particles from each source.

Starch granules from different sources have different shapes and are characteristic for that source. Starch granules from potato are oval with concentric rings, those from moong dal are round with a fine line in the centre.

The shape of the starch grains are illustrated herewith:
