What is the difference among Free Electron Theory and Band Theory of solids?
Free Electron Theory:
This theory says that, metals conduct electricity due to the presence of free electrons in it. The outermost shells of metal atoms will be loosely bound with their nucleus. So the electrons in it are free to move anywhere in the solid.
These electrons are known as free electrons and these electrons are responsible for the conduction of electricity.
An electron, an alpha-particle and a proton have the similar kinetic energy. Which one of these particles has the main de-Broglie wavelength?
The graph below shows a sequence of alpha and beta decays, labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4. Consult Table 30-1 as required. a) Which shows alpha decays, and which represen
The points of maximum amplitude are called as antinodes. At ends density and air pressure both are very low.
