What is the difference among Free Electron Theory and Band Theory of solids?
Free Electron Theory:
This theory says that, metals conduct electricity due to the presence of free electrons in it. The outermost shells of metal atoms will be loosely bound with their nucleus. So the electrons in it are free to move anywhere in the solid.
These electrons are known as free electrons and these electrons are responsible for the conduction of electricity.
Q. It is possible to have motion in the absence of a force. Yes it is True, in the absence of a force a body will continue moving in a straight line and at a constant velocity
UNIFORM VELOCITY: If a body covers equal displacements in equivalent intervals of time, though the smallest intervals may be, then the velocity of the body is said to be unifor
The integral in Ampere's Law is an integral. Answer: The integral is an integral along (over) a closed path (curve).
Two flawlessly conducting spheres are in an evacuated region of space. One is at a potential of 12 volts as well as the other is at a potential of 15 volts. A free electron is rele
(a) Explain the term 'capacitance' of a capacitor. Derive an expression for the total Capacitance of 'n' capacitors arranged in series. (b) Explain the term 'capacitance' of
Doping: Silicon and Germanium have low values of electrical conductivity because of few free electrons. In order to improve the electrical conductivity of semi conductors' pent
