Sometimes maintaining social relationships also contributes to intake of excess calories. As you advance in age, your metabolic rate slows down and you require less energy to carry out the same set of activities than that needed 20 years ago. On the same diet and eating habits you will definitely put on weight. It is believed that women are more likely to be obese in the age group 40-60 years across all geographical regions.
