Define Contractile Protein - biological functions of protein?

These proteins take part in contractile processes like muscle proteins also those found in other cells and tissues. In the latter, these proteins contribute in localized contractile events in the cytoplasm, in motile activity, and in cell aggregation phenomena. The instances of contractile proteins consist of actin, myosin, myoglobin, troponin etc. Actin and myosin are accountable for the movement of muscles. Contractile proteins are accountable for the undulations of cilia and flagella, which propel several cells.
