In the previous unit we have studied about the energy requirements. You now know that energy must be supplied regularly to individuals through the diet for their survival and maintenance of life and to carry out dl activities jointly termed as work. Our body derives energy from the catabolism of energy-yielding nutrients: carbohydrates, lipids and proteins.
