DC chopper

This is  one stage  conversion  device  which is used for direct conversion of fixed  de voltage at a level to an adjustable dc voltage  at another  level.

Chopper is high speed on/ off semiconductor switch  is represented  by a switch  SW with an  arrow  as shown  no current will flow  if the  switch  is off  and when it is on  current will flow  in the direction of  arrow only.
