Cycloalkene - Hydrocarbon

Carbocyclic compounds along with double bonds in the ring are known as cycloalkenes. Few common cycloalkenes are

Cycloalkenes can be simply acquired by Diels-Alder reaction. These compounds go through the electrophilic addition reactions that are characteristic of alkenes, when the ring remains intact. Cycloalkenes decolourise the purple in colour of dilute cold KMnO4 or red colour of bromine in carbon tetrachloride.
