Control of product during inspection, Business Management

Inspection of production takes time which may extend from a few hours to a number of days depending upon the nature of the product. It is necessary to exercise suitable on the movement of the product through the inspection area to avoid mix up of accepted and rejected stores which in some cases( like pharmaceutical products ) could be catastrophic. Some of the measures adopted for this purpose are given below:

a. Inspection area should be secure. If possible it should have locking arrangement to prevent unauthorized entry and removal of stores.

b. All stores coming in or going out of inspection area should carry written authorization from the inspection section.

c. Clear labels ( preferably having different colors) should be provided for the following types of stores while they are in inspection area.

1. Stores under inspection

2. Stores under inspection.

3. Accepted stores.

4. Rejected stores.

d. Where possible different areas or compartments should b rearranged for keeping various categories of stores .

e. Where more than one batch is under inspection at a time the identity of different batches should be maintained by allotting suitable batch numbers.

f. After inspection and award of sentence acceptable and rejected product should be properly segregated.
