Question 1:

You are to set up your biggest conference room for a cocktail party for a renowned bank in Mauritius. The cocktail is scheduled to start at 19h00. However, the same room has been occupied by a large IT firm since the morning and they are scheduled to end their conference at 16h30. Your banqueting team is waiting for the IT conference to end and for these guests to leave to start the set up but suddenly you realise that it has gone past 16h30 and the IT conference is not finished yet. You contact the person in charge of the conference who informs you that it will not be over for another hour. What is your immediate reaction as a banqueting manager? What might have gone wrong? What steps can you take to ensure that such incidents do not occur again for future events?

Describe your first meeting with these persons and indicate the whole process following this meeting until the day the event takes place.
