Lazytown Constabulary are concerned that young people in the town are unaware of the sorts of crime that they might encounter in their daily lives and are concerned that they may become victims of crime. As a result they are arranging a large awareness raising campaign. As part of this campaign they intend to set up a website "Lazytown crime stoppers" including some games for young people to play.
One of the games is described below:
A character has to explore a large maze. In the maze, they will find locations (which the game must scatter at random) where they will be asked a question about personal safety or avoiding being the victim of crime. If they answer the question correctly they gain some award and in some cases an 'anti-robber' device, like a personal alarm. If not, the question disappears and should be randomly relocated elsewhere in the maze. Periodically the character may get chased by a robber. If this happens they can deploy one of their 'anti-robber' devices which makes the robber disappear. If they have not gained any of these devices yet, they have to run to the police station. If they get to the police station the robber will disappear, however if the robber catches up with them, they are out of the game.
The game ends when all of the possible awards have been collected. At this point the game should offer the player a 'secret code'. If they ring the Lazytown Police station, with the secret code they will be entered in a draw for a big prize that will be award the following year at the Lazytown summer fete.
It is very important the interface is colourful and engaging for the age group targeted by the project.
