Compute the induced emf:
If a coil of 150 turns is linked with a flux of 0.01 wb while carrying a current of 10 Amp, compute the inductance of coil. Now, if current is reversed uniformly in 0.1 sec, compute the induced emf.
Solution
The self inductance of coil is
L = N φ / I = (150 × 0.01)/10= 0.15 Henry
The induced emf e = - L (di /dt)
=-( L (i2 - i1) )/dt
=- L [- 10 - 10] / 0.1
= 30 volt.
