Compare Petrol engine with Diesel engine with each other
(i) Basic cycle: Petrol Engine work on Otto cycle whereas Diesel Engine work on diesel cycles.
(ii) Induction of fuel: During the suction stroke in petrol engine, the air fuel mixture is sucked in the cylinder while in diesel engine only air is sucked into the cylinder during its suction stroke.
(iii) Compression Ratio: In the petrol engine compression ratio in the range of 5:1 to 8:1 while in diesel engine it is in the range of 15:1 to 20:1.
(iv) Thermal efficiency: For the similar compression ratio, the thermal efficiency of diesel engine is lower than petrol engine.
(v) Ignition: In petrol engine the charge (A/F mixture) is ignited by the spark plug after the compression of mixture while in diesel engine combustion of fuel due to its high temperature of compressed air.
lami''s theorem for thick cylinder
In class, we derived and solved a model of a non-isothermal, insulated, CSTR with an exothermic reaction (model6.m). We want to derive and solve a very similar model of a system wi
how can we produce electricity from sound energy
a) You have been assigned to design a robotics spot welding experiment for low carbon steel sheets. You found an experimental power source for spot welding process which is designe
Types of Cooling System: Two types of cooling system are used in two wheelers. (a) Natural air-cooling. (b) Forced air-cooling.
Define the difference modes of Heat Transfer with examples. State one system where Heat Transfer takes place because of all modes of Heat Transfer.
Variables used in WPS Depending on their influence on obtaining a desired weldment, the welding variables are then classified and listed. Some of them are listed as "Essential
mean effective pressure of dual cycle
He a t: Sol: Heat can be energy transferred across the boundary of a system because of temperature difference between system and surrounding. The heat is transferred by th
