Citizenship rights can be granted through birth or naturalization. Describe the basic requirements of each means of obtaining citizenship. In your own words, summarize the rights of U.S. citizens and contrast these with the rights of aliens. Analyze whether you believe these rights are fair and adequate. Briefly describe the Immigration Act of 1965 and its subsequent renewals. Using specific examples to support your opinion, evaluate the effectiveness of this system and recommend any changes you feel are needed to improve the current immigration system in the United States.
