Chemical properties of benzene
Because of the existence of Π - electron clouds above and below the plane benzene ring, the ring works as a source of electrons and is simply attacked by electrophiles (Electron loving reagents). Therefore electrophilic substitution reaction are the characteristic reactions of aromatic compounds.
Substitution reactions in benzene are favoured rather than addition are because of the fact that in the former reactions resonance stabilised benzene ring system is retained when the addition reactions lead to the destruction of benzene ring. Principal reactions of benzene can be studied within three heads,
(1) Addition reactions
(2) Substitution reactions
(3) Oxidation reactions
We are asked to design a qualitative analysis scheme that can be used to determine which cations are present in a solution containing only four of the following cations: Pb2+, Ag+,
I have to prepare an assignment on Kohlrausch''s law .So what topics should I include under this topic for an effective assignment ??????
How do we extract group one alkali metals?
Delocalisation of electrons in conjugated system is called resonance. For example there is delocalisation of electrons in benzene ,hence we write kekule structure for benzen.
Beckmann rearrangement Ketoxime while treated with acid at 0° C it goes through rearrangement termed as Beckmann rearrangement. So, acid catalysed conversion of ketoximes t
The maximum number of electrons in p -orbital with n= s, m=1 is: (1) 6 (2) 2 (3) 14 (4) 10 Ans: 2
Coordination Position Isomerism: If in a multinuclear complex the distribution of ligands around the metal centres changes it will result in a different isomer. Such an isomerism
What does this mean? H+/H2O
Since flourine is very electronegative as a result hydrogen makes a very positive character.as a result the H-bonding is very strong because of large difference in electronegativit
