Census Methods Complete Enumeration:
If detail information regarding every individual person or item of a given universe ( or population ) is collected then the enquiry will be complete enumerations. Another common name of complete enumeration is census. For example during the census of population ( which is done every ten years in India), information in respect of each individual person residing in India is collected. This methods gives information for each and every unit of the population with greater accuracy.
Advantages
1.Complete information is needed about the entire universe. For example if details of each unit of a population have to be obtained it is necessary that details of all individuals constituting the universe are obtained and as such the census type of enquiry becomes inevitable.
2.Where the size of the universe is not big and the need for accurate results is great.
3.In case of manufacturing process in industry if the occurrence of a defect may cause damage to the machine itself or the life of person operating it percent inspection would be recommended.
Disadvantage
1. It is very expensive particularly if the size of the universe is large.
2. It requires more time for completion
3. It needs substantial manpower and administrative control
