Secondary pollutants
Pollutants formed by the chemical interaction of primary pollutants with atmospheric gases and moisture, often catalysed by sunlight are known secondary pollutants e.g. ozone (O3), peroxyacyl nitrates (PAN), aldehyde sulphuric acid and nitric acid.
