Carburettor cleaning of motorcycle, Mechanical Engineering

Carburettor Cleaning:  Carburettor needs to be cleaned otherwise the jets may get clogged which may supply an inadequate amount of air fuel mixture. Inadequate amount of air fuel mixture severely affect the performance of the motorcycle.

During regular service follow the recommended schedule to clean the carburettor but if there is any problem pertaining to the carburettor functions, the carburettor has to be serviced as per the following steps.

STEPS

  • Close the fuel cock. Disconnect all the fuel/air lines.
  • Remove the throttle cable along with throttle and the spring.
  • Remove the band screw.
  • Remove the intake mounting nuts and the insulator.
  • Remove the carburettor and disassemble the carburettor.
