Capture english language vowels and determine formants, English

Problem 1.  The objective is to capture English language vowels and determine the first and second formants of those vowels. Formants are bands of "intense" sound in sound spectrograms. You should determine the characteristic frequency of those formants by estimating the middle of those band. Plot captured values on the graph presented on slide 32 of the handouts for lecture 5. We want to see whether our vowels fall in the range suggested on that graph. To produce various vowels speak out the following words:

Please create a small table which lists each vowel and its two formant frequencies. I will at the end collect all values and put them on one graph. Pronounce every word several times (5) and record respective formant values.
