If cracks of 6 mm and 12 mm length are separately present only one side of inner surface in radial direction find two values of KI.

Solution

For r₀ / ri = 7 and a / (r₀ - r_i)= 0.1 , from Figure , Y = 0.43.

For r₀ / r_i = 7 and a /( r₀ - r_i) = 0.2 , from Figure , Y = 0.40.

∴ For a = 6 mm,
