Q. In the given circuit, calculate the potential differences across each resistor

Solution :

i) Rs = R1 + R2 + R3 = 10Ω

ii) Current in circuit I = V/Rs = 10 / 10 = 1 A

iii) Voltage drop across R1, V1 = IR1 = 1 × 5 = 5V

Voltage drop across R2, V2 = IR2 = 1 × 3 = 3V

Voltage drop across R3, V3 = IR3 = 1 × 2 = 2V
