A clay sample, having its natural moisture content, weighs 0.333 N. The specific gravity of solids of this soil is 2.70. After oven-drying, the soil sample weighs 0.2025 N. The volume of the moist sample, before oven-drying, found by displacement of mercury is 24.30 cm3. Verify the moisture content, void ratio and degree of saturation of the soil.
