Calculate the area and perimeter of a right triangle with a 9" base and sides measuring 12 and 15.  Be sure to involve the units in your answer.

Solution:

A = 1/2 bh                   P = s1 + s2 + b

A = .5(9)(12)               P = 9 + 12 + 15

A = .5(108)                 P = 36 inches

A = 54 square inchesa
