You have been hired by Austrade to write a report advising on the attractiveness of Australia for manufacturing and service operations competitiveness. Your task will be to conduct an assessment of the attractiveness of the country based on a number of dimensions of competitiveness (see course materials for details). Your report should provide Austrade with a rational evaluation of competitiveness of Australia so that Austrade can provide advice to Australian and international firms on what to expect when setting up operations in Australia. As a research exercise, your report must provide empirical data so that you can make a reasonably robust evaluation of the business environment in Australia and the attractiveness of this country for foreign and Australian investors.  The length of this assessment item is to be 2500 words (+/- 10%), excluding Appendices, Charts and Tables.

 Marking Criteria for Business Report

1 - Depth of Analysis - Degree to which you have provided an explicit explanation to the reader, by consistently interpreting the implications of the information/data and highlighting its significance in the context of Australia's attractiveness as destination for investment; and the degree to which the you are willing and capable of providing a critical assessment of the information presented.

2 - Level of Research - Degree to which the you have sourced an adequate amount of data to construct the report and can provide well-informed advice to the reader.

3 - Writing Clarity and Structure - Degree to which the report is written in a logical and coherent manner

4 - Correctly formatted and presented - Degree to which you have presented the material professionally and within the guidelines set out in the course outline, including the correct use of appendices and the appropriate referencing of all material sourced in the writing of the report.
