Assignment Help:

Q. Bridging group in nomenclature compounds?

A bridging group is indicated by putting the Greek letter 'p' immediately before its name and separated by hyphens from other ligands.

Structural information may be given names and formulas by prefixes such as cis-.  pans- etc. [Pt(NH3)2Cl2] can be written as cis-dichlorodiarnmineplatinum(II) or trans- dichlorodiammineplatinum(II), respectively.

In an octahedral compound with different ligands the positions of the ligands are specified as shown in margin.
