Q. Enumerate the sequence of events that led to the Bolshevik revolution in Russia

a. In July, an armed demonstration was held by soldiers, sailors & workers against the provincial Govt.

b. In August, the army under general Kornilov sought to capture power by overthrowing the provincial Govt.

c. From Sept. Russia started witnessing an unexpected whirlwind of revolts & demonstrations

d. Lenin started to mobilize the Bolshevik in an effort to capture power; Leon Trotsky was elected the chairman of the Petrograd Soviet.

e. In Oct, Kerenslky declared that Petrograd was in a state of insurrection, ordered for the arrest of the Bolsheviks

f. The city's electric power plant was also occupied & the power supply to Govt. buildings was cut off

g. Kerenslky's Govt. was in an emergency meeting; Baltic soldiers issued an ultimatum to the provincial govt. demanding its resignation - Rejected

h. Oct. 25th - the entire city of Petrograd had been captured by the Bolsheviks

i. The Red Guards were busy capturing power. The all Russian congress of soviet met.

j. The congress issued three decrees: i. Decree of peace ii. Decree relating to the abolition of Pvt. Ownership iii. Decree ordered the election of an All- Russian Central Executive Committee.
