Benefits of having a project and programme support office, Project Management

Assignment Help:

What are the benefits to an organisation of having a Project and Programme support office?

The major advantages to an organisation by having a Project and Programme support office (PPSO) include:

•Collection of information onto past projects that can be used to support in risk and planning management.

•Consistency of approach, within terms of practices, documentation and planning, across whole projects; thereby ignoring ‘re-inventing the wheel’ for every new project.

•Independence, whereby the PPSO can give a slightly unlike perspective onto all projects for senior management.

•Specialism, there PPSO staff develop skills as like into project management tools which can be used by several projects.

•Centre of excellence: the growth of a central repository of guidance for project teams and project managers.
