Are there three various qualities of fiber optics?
Absolutely there are three different qualities of fibers optics. The raw materials used during the manufacture of fibers may be same in some instances but the process to build finished optics can vary significantly from one manufacturer to other.
The greatest differences happen from the level of purity and refinement with that the raw materials are produced, contamination, the degree of impurities and the very technology of process.
Optical properties as numerical aperture, attenuation and selective spectral absorption are broadly different from one fiber to other. It means that some fibers may be appropriate for one task and useless for others.
