Q. Approaches for development of information systems?

Numerous approaches are available for development of Information Systems. They are as below:

• Model Driven: It put emphasis on the drawing of pictorial system models to document and validate both existing or/and proposed systems. Eventually the system model becomes the blueprint for designing and constructing an improved system.

• Accelerated approach: A prototyping approach lay emphasis on the construction of model of a system. To design and build a scaled-down though functional version of the desired system is called as Prototyping. A prototype is a working system which is developed to test assumptions and ideas about the new system. It comprises working software which accepts input, perform calculations, produces printed or display information or perform other meaningful activities.

Joint Application Development: It is described as a structured approach in that users, managers and analysts work together for many days in a series of intensive meetings to specify or review system requirements. In this scheme requirements are recognized and design details are finalized.
