A tissue is a group of cells that are similar in structure, origin and function.
Tissue word coined by Bichat (Father of Histology).
Histology term Coined by Paul Mayer.
TYPES OF ANIMAL TISSUE - Maninly four types-
1. Epithelial tissue - Originate from Ectoderm, Mesoderm, Endoderm
2. Connective tissue - Originate from Mesoderm
3. Muscular tissue - Originate from Mesoderm
4. Nervous tissue - Originate from Ectoderm
