A generic algorithm is mostly analysed on basis of subsequent parameters: the space complexity (amount of space required) and the time complexity (execution time). Generally we give much more significance to time complexity comparatively to space complexity. The following section specifies the criteria of analysing complexity of parallel algorithms. The basic parameters needed for analysis of parallel algorithms are as follow:
• Time Complexity
• The Total Number of Processors Required
• The Cost Involved
What is program-controlled I/O? In program controlled I/O the processor repeatedly checks a status flags to achieve the needed synchronization among the processor and an input
Fixed Arithmetic pipelines We obtain the example of multiplication of fixed numbers. The Two fixed-point numbers are added by the ALU using shift and add operations. This sequ
Pruning - Artificial intelligence Remember that pruning a search space means deciding that particular branches should not be explored. If an agent surly knows that exploring
Instruction Level It refers to the condition where different instructions of a program are implemented by different processing elements. Most processors have numerous execution

A device driver is software interface that manages communication with and control of a particular I/O device or type of device. It is task of device driver to convert logical reque
Array Processing We have seen that for executing vector operations the pipelining conception has been used. There is other method for vector operations. If we have array of n p
Explain Protection mechanism. Protection mechanism: The subsequent mechanisms are commonly utilized for protecting files having programs and data. (a) Access controls list
What is a binary tree? A binary tree 'T' is described as A finite set of elements, known as nodes, such that: either (i) or (ii) happens: (i) T is empty (known as the 'nu
Performance Evaluation In this part, we talk about the primary attributes used to measure the performance of a computer system. Unit 2 of block 3 is totally devoted to performa
