Analysis and design-power calculations-vehicle cost, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

The EV is to be used for city transportation, it should carry a maximum total load of 325 kg (passengers and cargo). The battery back used will be 365 kg, 44 kilowatt hours lithium Iron phosphate type.

The maximum speed of the EV is 60 km/hour and it should be able to maintain a speed of 50 km/hour on a 10% slope. The vehicle should be able to attain its maximum speed in 10 seconds or less from stand still.

In order to reduce maintenance cost the vehicle should be designed with a single speed gear ratio or direct drive motor(s).

You can pick an existing chassis or design your own.

Your analysis and design calculations should include:

  1. Power calculations
  2. Selection of motor
  3. Speed control. You should select of the shelf components.
  4. High level design of vehicle
  5. Performance calculations
  6. Vehicle cost
