Activities of a Binding Division:

  • Identification and preparation of materials for binding 
  • Recording of all such materials requiring binding 
  • Specification of the style of binding, lettering and special instruction to the binder in accordance with the library binding policy. 
  • Reviewing materials, especially periodicals and other special materials prepared for binding 
  • Maintaining current records of material in the process of binding and permanent records of materials bound 
  • Compiling statistics of binding in  terns of the style  of binding and of the divisions/ sections of the library from which the materials was received.
