Absorption of Proteins

Proteolytic enzymes break  the dietary  Proteins and proteins  into amino acids or di-  and  tripeptides.  In  fact,  it  is  in  this  form  that the dietary proteins are absorbed. Dietary proteins are, with very  few exceptions, not absorbed. Digestion of proteins and  absorption of amino acids goes on  throughout the small intestine. We shall look at the mechanism of absorption of amino acids.
