A simple wheel and axle

Remove the cover from a pencil sharpener and bind a string tightly around the end of the shaft. Bind a weight of various kilograms to the end of the string and turn the handle. Note that the force required to turn the handle is much less than the force of gravity on the weight. Point out that the pencil sharpener is used as a wheel and axle in this demonstration.
