A simple model of the earth and moon

The earth can be shown by an orange or other round object stuck on a piece of bamboo or a meat skewer. A piece of bent wire or knitting needle stuck by the shaft will support a round chestnut or small nut to show the moon. The phases of the moon and the rotation of the earth round the sun, and also the formation of eclipses can be illustrate by holding it in the hand whereas walking in a circle round a lamp of some sort.
