Nellie is a 3-year-old female who comes to your outpatient clinic for a speech therapy evaluation with her mother. Nellie is very difficult to understand at home. She is leaving off the beginnings and ends of words and substituting some vowels for other vowels. Nellie (and her mother for that matter) often cry in frustration as Nellie's wants and needs are rarely met and understood in her communication environments. Nellie also speaks very fast.
