As they struggle to build new lives for themselves, they become involved in the sweeping social changes and conflicts of the mid-nineteenth century. For this topic, assume the role of one these two imaginary historical figures and compose a series of letters to the other sibling, revealing the writer's attitudes, decisions, and actions in response to the major developments and events of the times. Make sure that your letters cover the period up to and including the early 1860s. Your letters must also respond to the imagined letters received in return from his or her sibling.
