In this assignment, you are to write a memo to your boss. In this memo, you will ask for a promotion and commensurate raise (details on the position you hold, and the position you want, are below). You do not have the opportunity to speak with your boss in person because she will be out of the office for the next month traveling for the company, so you are writing this memo to her.

Here is the background: In December 2012, you began working in the position “Audit – Full-Time” for Deloitte LLP in the National Office in New York City. In January 2013 you passed all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination. In October 2016, an “Audit – Senior” position became available in the National Office. In your first 18 months at Deloitte, you performed basic audits of financial statement balances and disclosures for both public and private companies in the New York area. Starting in June 2014, you began to take on more responsibilities. Since December 2014, you have been performing all of the items listed as requirements for the senior auditor’s position. Your boss’s name is Suzanne Fields; she is Senior Manager of Accounting and Audit Readiness for New York City. You must send a cc of the memo to the Director of Human Resources, Matthew Hayes.
