A rail gun is constructed by connecting two parallel 1.0-m long conducting rails immersed in a magnetic field to a power source. The rails are 24 cm apart and the "projectile" is a conducting bar placed across the rails. The projectile is launched when a current of 1.1-A is clockwise through the rails and the bar and it accelerates from left to right along the rails from 0 m/s to 25 m/s. You may assume that there is no friction between the rail and the 1.5-gram "projectile." What is the direction and magnitude of the magnetic field?
