Set up a hypothesis test for a scenario of your choice. You can use a scenario from your own experience, or invent something--but please, do not copy from the book or course material, or duplicate another student's idea.

You are to describe the scenario, state the null and alternate hypotheses, and explain the reason for needing the test and why the test is 1-tail or 2-tail. You do not have to complete the test.

Here is an example you can use for a guide:

According to the San Francisco MUNI schedule, the 45 Union bus takes an average of 43 minutes to travel its route from Lyon & Greenwich Streets to 4th and Townsend Streets during weekday morning rush hour. Since I ride the bus to work every day and can not be late, I need to know if this claim is accurate.

Null hypothesis: mu <= 43 minutes

Alternate hypothesis: mu > 43 minutes.

It is an upper-tail test because I am only worried about being late for work; being early is not a problem. So I do not care if the true mean is less than 43 minutes.
