Ernie and Rosie both reside at Spring Tree Nursing Home. They have each lost their spouse and have been at Spring Tree for the past 3 years due to health issues and lack of family support. Ernie and Rosie like the staff at the nursing home and their needs are being adequately met. They engage in many of the activities that go on at the nursing home and have many friends. Ernie and Rosie have become quite fond of one another and that is obvious to staff and friends alike. The nursing home is in an uproar because Ernie was found in Rosie's room late one evening. Rosie and Ernie are angry and embarrassed by the staff's reaction and staff is divided on the issue of allowing sexual relationships to occur in the nursing home. There is currently no written policy to address this issue.
