Watch the Peer Response Video III. In this section of the video there is a focused conversation about how writing is deliberative as expressed in the threshold concept,
Choices: Writing is a process of deliberation. It involves enacting compositional choices, strategies and moves
For this discussion we want you to utilize this conversation in two ways:
1. We want you to be deliberate about the ways in which you respond to your peers and how you engage the feedback you receive. Take this opportunity to review the feedback you have given and received so far in the course. What patterns do you notice? What has motivated or shaped these interactions? What would you like to do better? Apply what you have learned as you offer and receive feedback on the Viewpoint Synthesis drafts this week. Discuss at least one example of how this reflection has impacted how you gave and/or received feedback this week on the Viewpoint essay.
2. In the last 1/3 of this video (see 10:00 min), Brittany, the moderator, asks the writers and reviewers what they have learned overall. Cite several specific examples from the video which illustrate key insights from the various readers and writers.
Now, in a similar move to what will be found in your Unit 3 reflection and your final portfolio, reflect on what you have learned about writing as you have given and received feedback. More specifically reflect on the Choices threshold concept as it relates to peer response.
