Question: Writing a letter to an elected official about an issue you care about can be a great way to educate yourself and others, improve your communication skills, and make a positive impact on your community.

For this exercise, craft a letter of at least 1, 500 words directed to an elected official (mayor, city council member, school board member), advising them about the importance of a selected issue and urging them to take an appropriate action/actions in response. Research to make sure that the person you are addressing deals with the problem you are highlighting.
