One of the outcomes of a job analysis is a job description - a formal documentation of the details gathered through the job analysis process.

Task:

Write the job description for the position you currently occupy OR interview someone else and write a job description for their position.

Your description must include the following elements:

1. Job title: should reflect the nature of the job

2. Brief summary: describes the nature and purpose of the job

3. Work activities: tasks and activities in which the worker is involved, broken down into major areas of responsibility

4. Tools and equipment used:

5. Job context: the environment within which the job is performed; should include physical environment, schedule, number of co-workers, stress level, degree of danger, physical demands.

6. Work performance: performance standards; the basis for positive performance evaluation

7. Job competencies: requisite KSAOs for the person in this position.
