Two mass streams of an ideal gas are mixed in a steady-flow process in a mixing chamber while receiving heat transfer from the surroundings as shown below. The ideal gas has constant specific heats and the mixing occurs at constant pressure. Find the expression for the mixture temperature T3 and the expression for the volume flow rate of the mixture leaving the mixing chamber at state 3. Write the exit volume flow rate as a function of the volume flow rates at states 1 and 2, the heat transfer rate, P3, and k=Cp/Cv.
