Define a concept that you wish to communicate that represent sustainability for you, this concept is shape, colour and depth.
Imagine that you have an office of Sustainable Designers where over 100 people work for you. In a building where you work, 50% of the offices receive natural light. You need space for storage, for printing, and other tasks that do not require natural light so you can plan to organize the space according to the tasks. In this scenario, plan how the day should be and mention in the Sustainability checklist all the factors that would be involved in a normal day at this office.
Also include the name of the office, and mention the kind of projects that are currently working on. All the aspects must be associated to sustainability, and your main concept.
Write preliminary Sustainable Design Checklist (SDCh).
The sustainable Design list include all aspects that are applied to a design office in a regular daily routine, as planning for recycling, using sources of materials known and with fair trade principles, including sustainable processes as working during the day and with natural light, eating arrangements, parking uses, bike rooms cafeteria, shopping area, etc.
To describe the SDCh you must be as creative as you can, and include the top 10 components that will make your project as sustainable as possible. Some examples for top items are:
- Design for re-use.
- Maximize the shelf-life of your design.
- Scrutinize the efficiency of your selected method.
- Fair Trade coffee
- Recycling station
- Recycling and innovation "Mondays"
